Multiple Sclerosis is a Disability: MSSI

Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) Chennai is planning to make a strong statement on February 7 (India Multiple Sclerosis Day) at its office at its office in 8/17, Shafee Mohammed Road (near Apollo Children’s Hospital), Chennai.

MS is a disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body. MSSI Chennai’s statement will be addressed to the Centre that chronic and deteriorating health conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis should be recognised as multiple disability under the upcoming Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. MSSI members will be putting up several slogans, such as, ‘Let not Group of Ministers discussion on Rights of Persons with Disabilities Bill; reduce our recognition as persons with disabilities to NIL! Society demands to prove ability! Government asks to prove disability! How do I bid goodbye to my multiple disability?’

For details, call Ann Gonsalvez, chair person, MSSI 9962100256.
